Aalborg Jubilæums Akvavit

A golden akvavit first created in 1946 to celebrate the centenary of Aalborg Akvavit, hence the name Jubilæums or ‘Jubilee’. Indeed, akvavit is said to have been created in the northern Danish city of Aalborg by Isidor Henius in 1846. This bottling has been flavored with a mixture of dill, coriander, star anise, and citrus. The final result is a profoundly citrussy akvavit, with verdant notes of lime, faint anise, caraway, dill and general soft warming spice. An excellent winter warmer, this is best served chilled in small glasses. A great pairing for oily, pan fried fish.
