The sweet licorice flavor of Gaetano Anisette comes from carefully selected, imported anise seeds. Though similar to Sambuca, Anisette differs in that it is sweeter and contains less alcohol than Sambuca. This traditional favorite can be consumed straight as a digestif after a meal and is often used as an ingredient in Italian pastry and cookie recipes. Popular cocktails made with anisette include the Absinthe Special Cocktail, Good & Plenty, Jelly Bean or simply served with a cup of espresso.
